Surgery Hours

Our phone lines are open at 8:00am to book on the day appointments.

Our emergency line is operational between 12.30 – 13.30 and 18.00 – 18.30

Extended Hours

The Southampton wide Federation of GP Practices provides a comprehensive extended access service covering bookable appointments with GPs, Nurses, HCAs and Physiotherapists in one of their 'hub' surgeries from 18.30 until 21.00 including every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday. It has therefore been decided that we no longer need to provide the Extended Hours service as a practice at Brook House Surgery. 

Patients will still be able to request appointments outside of the normal GP opening hours, by speaking to a member of our reception team who will book you a hub appointment.

We do, however, always try to encourage our patients to discuss their problems with their own GP or Practice Nurse where possible and convenient.

When We Are Closed

The surgery is closed on week-ends and bank holidays.

Need to be seen outside of surgery hours?

Telephone 111 to access a GP outside the practice's normal opening hours of 08:00 – 18:30, Monday to Friday.

The out-of-hours service is a busy service so please use this service only if you feel your problem can not wait until the practice reopens. 

Minor Injuries Unit

Please attend at the Minor Injuries Unit based at the Royal South Hants Hospital instead of the Emergency Department (A&E) if you have a minor injury including:

• Deep cuts
• Sprains
• Minor burns. 

This unit is open from 08:00 until 21:30, 365 days per year.  They have X-ray facilities should this be necessary.

Emergency Department (A&E)

* Emergency departments should only be used in a critical or life-threatening situation * 

The emergency department provides emergency care for people who show symptoms of a serious illness or are badly injured.  If you suspect an injury is serious go straight to the emergency department or dial 999 and ask for an ambulance.

  Target training is a scheme that brings our city's GPs, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants together every two months to learn new skills, hear about new treatments and share good practice.  It means that your surgery will need to close for one afternoon every two months but we will ensure that medical care will be available when you need it.
